Three amazing commercials by Australian director Liz Murphy and TAXI for RAC Insurance. NO 3D all real props, shot with a Digital Camera on full scale built sets, animated frame by frame in one continuous shot.

All three spots are mind-bogglingly, painstakingly animated. These spots are among the largest and most technically challenging stop motion commercial projects out there.

Post production was handled by Cutting Edge studio, and the realistic sound design was foley recorded with the actual props from the shoot by Pete Jones.

Make sure to block some time off to enjoy all the spots, such meticulous work requires some real frame by frame viewing.

Instructions for use:\r

A) Affix handle (5). Thread the yarn (7) first through the lower guide (1) from the outside, then through the upper guide (2) and finally down through the central tube (3) of the knitting mill. \r
\r
B) Make sure that the tongues of all the needles (4) are pointing downwards and hold the knitting mill in your left hand. Also hold the yarn tightly in your left hand. \r
\r
C) Slowly turn the handle clockwise (5) until the first hook (4) picks up the yarn. Turn the handle forward only (in the direction of the arrow, never turn it backwards). Then pass the yarn behind the second needle, i.e. this needle is missed out. Continue to turn slowly until the third hook picks up the yarn. Hook the weight (6) onto the end of the yarn. Pass the yarn behind the fourth needle, missing it out. Continue to turn slowly. \r
\r
D) On the second turn all the hooks (4) pick up the yarn. From the third turn onwards the handle can be turned faster. Move the weight (6) up now and again. \r
\r
E) When beginning a new ball of wool, knot the yarn together, cut off the ends of the yarn and continue to turn slowly. Take care that the knot does not catch in the threading guides. \r
F) When you have finished, cut the yarn and continue turning until the knitted cord is thrown off the needles. Pull the end of the yarn through the open stitches tightly with a wool needle and stitch up. \r
\r
Tightly twisted wool, suitable for pin gauges 3 - 3.5 mm, gives the best results. \r
If the wool is not of a very good quality, i.e. if the wool is somewhat coarse, it will not glide so well which can lead to malfunctions. This also applies to very fibrous or fluffy wool such as mohair. During use, always make sure that the tongue of the needle which grasps the yarn is clipped downwards, the hooks close tightly and then completely release the yarn. The yarn must run loosely from the ball of wool (7). The weight should not pull the yarn downwards until the third hook grasps the yarn (3). \r

Infirmary Road onto Parkgate Street was like a pure Ice Rink. Hilarious for all us onlookers, but not for the motorists... Bit of craic here for about 2 hours and lots of footage, but couldn't fit it all in.

Before all the camera nazi's start... I don't carry a video camera everywhere I go, so quality is shit and shakey, but you make do with what you got in your pocket. I only had a 5 megapixel... so when I zoomed it got shakey a lot. It was taken on a phone like device on high zoom. So none of yizer shit. :D

Calgary Expo 2014 - Cosplay Music Video

Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, the second biggest pop culture convention in Canada featuring a range of amazing guests from shows like Doctor Who, Breaking Bad and movies like the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit & Kill Bill took place between the 24 and the 27 of April & we couldn't resist taking along our camera to capture some of the awesome cosplayers. Quick Quadcopter Test Flight KK Multicopter 2.0 Setup

So it stopped raining for a little while and I decided to take the quadcopter out for a little test run today..Wasnt too bad, but Im getting the hang of it I think! Im using a KK Multicopter 2.0 board, an F450 frame, 1000kv motors, 30a brushless controllers, and 1045 props, all run by dual 2200mah 11.1v 3s packs that are connected for 4400mah. Ive got parts on the way to upgrade the flight computer to a Multiwii v2.5 SE (Standard Edition) board, with an i2C GPS module, along with the bluetooth module so I can connect it wirelessly to my laptop and/or my Android phone for Altitude hold (barometer based, considering a sonar upgrade), GPS waypoints, and on the fly PID tuning (no pun intended). Im looking into FPV (First Person View/Video) systems. Thats still under consideration, and Im open to recommendations! Well guys, heres a test flight of my current setup, it had just stopped raining, and wis still rather windy so not only was it hard to fly because Im not very experienced with it yet, on top of having to counter the wind. Let me know what you guys think!
